The SSB BladeVision system for wind area measurement in the rotor blade not only detects wind selectively, but also across the surface area of the rotor blades. SSB Wind’s advanced sensor has been designed to meet this challenge: BladeVision doesn’t just measure wind speed and direction. It provides a complete wind-field description over the swept area of the blades. This completeness provides operators with important data about wind factors affecting the performance of different types of Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) in wind parks.
The Embedded Vision System rotates in the hub of wind turbines and captures a large amount of data by measuring the rotor blade bend. This data is used to optimize the efficiency and management of wind farms. PHYTEC provided both a phyFLEX-i.MX 6 System on Module and a parallel camera module with color CMOS sensor to drive this application.
