The phyCORE-i.MX8 SOM brings cutting edge graphics, video, and signal processing to your product design. The i.MX8 SOM is a perfect fit for Edge Computing including applications in machine vision, intelligent data gathering, and machine learning.

The i.MX 8 Processor

The NXP i.MX 8 Series processors offer fast multi-OS platform deployment via advanced full-chip hardware virtualization and domain protection. The processor can support rich, fully-independent graphics content across 4x HD screens or 1x 4K screen while assuring all displays are always-on via SafeAssure technology. In addition, vision and speech recognition can be realized via a powerful vision pipeline and audio processing subsystem.

Interfaces

The phyCORE-i.MX 8 utilizes rugged Sam-Tec connectors which allows access to the processors features and advanced I/O.

With processor speeds up to 1.6GHz, discrete graphic acceleration and the Tensilica HiFi4 DSP, the phyCORE-i.MX 8 is the ultimate for performance. In addition to processing performance the phyCORE-i.MX 8 offers h.265 4K decoding, 1080p h.264 encoding, and supports OpenGL ES 3.1, OpenVX, OpenCL, and Vulkan frameworks.
