Product Overview

A cost-effective general purpose embedded platform designed for products that need reliable performance, multimedia capability, and industrial connectivity without unnecessary complexity. The phyCORE®-AM62x System on Module combines efficient processing with flexible I/O, making it ideal for HMIs, IoT gateways, EV charging systems, kiosks, and connected control devices.

The phyCORE®-AM62x is designed for teams that need modern embedded capability without the cost and complexity of high-end processing platforms. In a compact 43 mm x 32 mm footprint, the SOM provides the connectivity and multimedia support required for production-ready OEM devices, including dual Ethernet, CAN-FD, camera input, audio, and dual-display capability.

Built on the Texas Instruments Sitara™ AM62x platform, it combines Cortex-A53 application processing with a Cortex-M4F co-processor and PRU-ICSS real-time I/O, enabling Linux-based systems that also require responsive control and deterministic communication.

With connectorized and direct solder options available, the module simplifies manufacturing, reduces bill of materials pressure, and allows greater flexibility for future product iterations.

Features

Advanced Multimedia Capabilities

On chip GPU, dual display, MIPI CSI-2, and audio. Need HDMI? Use a validated PHYTEC reference circuit to add to your system.

Mainline Linux

PHYTEC commits to upstream support of the phyCORE-AM62x System on Module. With support for the TI AM62x processor already available in the Linux kernel, PHYTEC extends this commitment by supporting the SOM in both U-Boot and Linux.

Security

Work with PHYTEC to add Secure Boot to your application. All phyCORE-AM62x SOMs have the ability to burn security keys to the processor and establish root-of-trust by signing software images to ensure only trusted code is run on your device.

Cost Optimized

Customization options to reduce Bill of Materials include scalable processor, depopulation of connectors as well as the option for direct solder version for complete elimination of connector cost.
