phyFLEX®-STM32MP25x
FPSC form factor for pin-compatible phyFLEX SOMs
Product Overview
STMicroelectronics’ second-generation STM32 processor is specifically designed for industrial applications in Industry 4.0, Smart Cities, and Smart Buildings: machine control and operation, IoT gateways, object tracking, and predictive maintenance.
The phyFLEX-STM32MP2x FPSC is a cost-effective, high-performance, and cyber-secure platform. Measuring just 40 mm x 37 mm, it enables compact designs with a typical power consumption of less than 5 watts.
The combination of high computing power (up to 5350 DMIPS) with HMI, vision, and AI capabilities, along with integrated high-speed interfaces such as PCIe and USB 3.2 Gen 1, enables future-proof product design. The SOM is pre-certified with the SESIP3 security standard and features comprehensive security functions such as TrustZone and Secure Boot, supported by the yocto-based OpenSTLinux BSP. The processor is exceptionally robust and approved for use in an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
Designed for the FPSC Standard Footprint, the phyFLEX form factor allows scalability with other phyFLEX SOMs. phyFLEX-STM32MP25x supports 4GB LPDDR4 memory and 256GB eMMC storage. 2x Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.2, 2x CAN-FD, camera, and dual display make the phyFLEX-STM32MP25x an ideal platform for HMI, industrial automation, edge AI, and multimedia-enabled embedded systems. FPSC is a standardized footprint with pin-compatibility across the phyFLEX Family of System on Modules. Many of the SOM features can be expanded if pin-compatibility is not required.
With PHYTEC’s hardware design expertise and long-term product support, developers can move from concept to production faster while reducing risk and engineering effort. FPSC further reduces development risk by providing second-source modules from the phyFLEX Family of SOMs.

The STM32MP25x Processor
The STM32MP25x is ST’s flagship application processor series, built around a heterogeneous architecture combining a dual-core Arm® Cortex®-A35 and an Arm® Cortex®-M33 coprocessor, designed to run full Linux applications alongside isolated real-time tasks. The series can embed a 3D GPU (VeriSilicon®, supporting OpenGL ES 3.1, Vulkan 1.3, OpenCL 3.0, and OpenVX 1.3) running at up to 900 MHz, as well as an optional NPU (VeriSilicon®) capable of running TensorFlow Lite and ONNX models for edge AI inference. As ST’s first MPU family with PCIe Gen 2, USB 3.0, and three Ethernet ports, the STM32MP25x is purpose-built for Industry 4.0 applications demanding advanced connectivity, real-time control, and on-device AI.
