DSC SOM Rework Tool

Product Overview

PHYTEC strives to support a wide range of customer applications. The PHYTEC DSC SOM Rework Tool was created to support customers who need to safely remove soldered SOMs from a carrier board.  The tool is made of aluminum and stainless steel to withstand the high temperatures of the reflow oven. It is equipped with four contact feet that firmly grip the SOM on two of its opposing edges. The tool is attached to the SOM using two thumb screws. This tool can be purchased as an accessory to the phyCORE-i.MX8M Mini development kit.

What is it for?

This rework tool enables removal of soldered-down SOMs by providing stable, level surface mount that can be picked up by rework stations capable of:

• Bottom Heat
• Top Heat
• Picking nozzle with an 8-10mm silicone suction cup
