Performance and Scalability
The phyCORE®-i.MX 6 SOM is the smallest industrial i.MX 6 design available on the market. The compact phyCORE-i.MX 6 SOM is highly scalable supporting NXP i.MX 6Solo, Dual, or Quad processor variants and with the configuration options for DDR3, eMMC, and SLC NAND. In addition to PHYTEC’s standard board-to-board connectors, the phyCORE-i.MX 6 is also available in a connectionless variant utilizing PHYTEC’s Direct Solder Connect technology. Combining cost efficiency and high demand performance the phyCORE-i.MX 6 is suited well for deployment in a broad range of solutions.
The i.MX 6 Processor
The NXP i.MX 6 series includes a highly scalable family of embedded processors based on Arm® Cortex®-A9 technology with single, dual and quad-core offerings delivering up to 1.2 GHz per core. Along with power-efficient processing capabilities, the i.MX 6 provides a leading edge 3D graphics engine, stereoscopic image sensor support for 3D imaging, an HD video engine delivering 1080p encode/decode, 3D video playback, and a separate 2D engine for UI.
The phyBOARD-i.MX 6 SBC features a single 10/100/1000Mbit RJ45 connector, USB Host (Standard-A), USB-OTG (Micro-AB), 2×5 header for CAN, 2×5 header for RS232, uSD card slot, and a miniPCIe card socket. HDMI, Camera, LVDS, and additional pins are accessible through PHYTEC expansion connectors.
Flexible Memory Options
The phyCORE-i.MX 6 utilizes a dual-flash-footprint that allows for populating SLC NAND or eMMC. Does your product require the increased write cycles of SLC NAND? You can have NAND. Does your product require more storage space OR do you want protection from EOL NAND issues? Populate an eMMC option.
Loaded with Vivante GC2000 3D and Vivante GC355/GC320 2D graphics accelerators the phyCORE-i.MX 6 SOM family is ideal for advanced graphics. In addition the phyCORE-i.MX 6 supports 1080p60 Decode, 1080p30 Encode, and camera interfaces.
With dimensions of 10 cm x 7 cm the phyBOARD-i.MX 6 is well suited for small enclosures.
