The phyCORE®-AM65x module brings secure boot, multiprotocol gigabit industrial communication, graphics, functional safety features and time-sensitive-networking (TSN) to the phyCORE® family. The phyCORE®-AM65x SOM is ideal for industrial communication systems, factory automation, edge computing, grid infrastructure and applications where high reliability is needed. Utilize the quad Arm® Cortex®-A53 cores to run your application, the 6x Industrial PRU interfaces for time sensitive communication protocols and the isolated dual Cortex®-R5F cores for functional safety support.
The AM65x Processor
Sitara™ AM65x processors enable gigabit industrial Ethernet networks, robust operation with extensive ECC on memories, and enhanced security features. Additional features such as an integrated lockstep MCU subsystem and diagnostic libraries help enable functional safety systems.
The phyCORE-AM65x SOM utilizes ruggedized connectors. Most of the advanced AM65x interface signals are routed to our high-density PCB interconnects on the underside of the SOM.
The phyCORE-AM65x SOM offers optional pre-certified 2.4 or 5 GHz WiFi solutions from Laird Communications. These industrial temperature WiFi solutions are also fully supported in PHYTEC’s BSPs. Read about the WiFi solutions here
Software that is specifically designed for its hardware
PHYTEC offers Linux BSPs based on TI’s TISDK, Android BSPs, as well as support for TI-RTOS.
The phyCORE-AM65x SOM supports using the Sitara AM65x 6 PRU-ICSSG interfaces. These interfaces can be loaded with various industrial communication protocol stacks such as EtherCAT Master/Slave and also support TSN making the phyCORE-AM65x SOM ideal for industrial communication routers and hubs.
