Newsletter – SOM’ores and Sunshine
Summer is finally in full swing in the Pacific Northwest and that can only mean one thing…spending time in the great outdoors! If there’s one thing you can look forward to in the summers here it’s perfect weather for hiking, backpacking, camping and any other outdoor activity you can imagine. Q2 was full of adventures and travel, getting resourceful to build new demos for trade shows, and collaborating with each other on many different projects. Grab a seat around the fire, a stick, some graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows – you’re gonna want to get comfortable for this highlights reel.
Newsletter – April Showers Bring SOM Power
Contrary to what Mr. Groundhog said, Spring isn’t quite in full force yet in the PNW. Occasionally the sun rears its golden head for a weekend of warmth that makes us all hopeful for longer days ahead but until then we wait under the grey skies and its gentle showers, knowing that every drop is fuel for a powerful new beginning. Quarter 1 was spent on growing the AM6 series of SOMs with new BSP releases and nightly CICD testing. Check out what we have been up to, and what we have coming up in this new Spring season!
Newsletter – O TannenSOM
It’s the most wonderful time of year and the end of Q4 2023! Did that go by fast for you too? It wasn’t until our Hardware development team started playing holiday music (traditionally done the last week before the holiday) that I realized 2023 was coming to a close. What is your favorite holiday song? My personal favorite is O Christmas Tree. The German version of O Christmas Tree is of course, O Tannenbaum. Don’t you think it is only right to dub the official Christmas song of PHYTEC (headquartered in Germany if you didn’t know), O TannenSOM?
Can it run DOOM?
It’s a well known running gag/measure of engineering prowess to see if you can get Doom running on a myriad of questionably appropriate devices. See how PHYTEC got FreeDoom running on our phyCORE-AM62x development kit.
