Product Overview

The kit features the phyBOARD-AM64x, which utilizes the industry-proven TI AM64x processor. Due to the heterogeneous architecture of the TI AM64x processor, you can run the majority of your application using Linux and off load critical components to the specialized low latency best-in-class real-time cores. Making the AM64x the perfect insert-ready communication module for industrial control and smart manufacturing applications.

Features

Various SBC interfaces

Standard interfaces include a DB-9 connector for CAN and RS232, 3x 10/100 RJ-45 Ethernet connectors, 2x USB Host Standard-A, 1 USB OTG Micro-AB, Power and a uSD slot. Expansion is available on the PHYTEC expansion connector.

Industrial Communication

The phyCORE-AM64x SOM supports use of the Sitara AM64x 4x PRU-ICSSG Industrial Ethernet interfaces. These interfaces can be loaded with various industrial communication protocol stacks such as TSN, EtherCAT®, PROFINET®, ETHERNET/IP® and others.

Security

Work with PHYTEC to add Secure Boot to your application. Burn security keys to the processor and establish root-of-trust by signing software images to ensure only trusted code is run on your device.

The Texas Instruments Sitara™ AM64x processor features dual Arm® Cortex®-A53 cores to run your application, up to 4x Cortex®-R5F cores for best in class real time operations, 4x Industrial PRU interfaces for time sensitive communication protocols, and an isolated Cortex®-M4F MCU for functional safety support. Designed with 16nm process technology, this highly integrated chip retains relatively low power consumption to eliminate complex thermal design.
