Trade Show – ATX 2021

After almost two years without any in-person trade shows or events we decided it was time to get back out there! We attended ATX August 10-12 in Anaheim, CA and had a great time exhibiting, networking, and meeting people from all over the country who just really love technology.

Event Recap

We sent three PHYTEC-ers to represent us at ATX 201 in Anaheim, CA August 10-12. The ATX West trade show combines 6 co-located events (MD&M West, WestPack, ATX West, D&M west, PLASTEC West and Cannabis Packaging Conference & Exhibition) and is North America’s largest annual advanced design and manufacturing event spanning five complementary industries: medtech, plastics, automation, design and packaging. After attending for the first time in early 2020 we knew we wanted to come back and we finally got our opportunity. If you weren’t able to attend, here’s a breakdown of what we showed followed by a virtual tour of our booth!

We showcased our latest products like the phyCORE-AM64x, phyCORE-STM32MP15x, and phyCORE-i.MX 8M Mini, as well as an in-house 3D printed satellite to show how a SOM quite literally fits inside your application. We also featured our machine learning demo, Connect-0100, which was a big hit amongst attendees! Person after person came by to try their hand at Connect-0100 against a robot powered by our phyCORE-AM57x SOM. It’s tough to beat, but a few lucky people were victorious! We even hung out with our friends from Dorna Robotics who made the robot arm we use in our demo.

Not only did we get to catch up with familiar faces and hear about their new Dorna 2 arm that has further motion range and is light weight, but we found three new and exciting embedded applications. First to catch our eye was ABB’s YuMi robot; a double armed high tech robot that prepared and served coffee to visitors.  Then a vibrant kick starter called Portal Infinity Mirrors captured our interest. They create mirrors, lamps and wearable technology that create a hybrid of art and technology. Finally our neighbors, Schmidt Technology, a press manufacturer. They have electric presses that can assemble and monitor product production.

We had a great time showing attendees and exhibitors alike that PHYTEC truly has a SOM for every project, and our SOMs have been deployed in a wide range of applications. From electric vehicle chargers, mobile X-rays, and transportation ticketing systems to logistics automation devices, industrial robots, and cargo fleet management.
