Knosos
The K8 GPS communicator unit is a high-performance and low-cost GPS transmitter designed and manufactured by Knosos. The K8 enables the GPS location of vehicle fleets, including vehicle registration number, position, speed and route data. Designed for use with MicroNAV software, the K8 supports various communication protocols, including: private mobile radio communication protocols, analogic trunking (MPT1327), digital cellular communications (GSM), digital trunking (TETRA), and satellite communications (ORBCOM).
The K8 connects directly to the communication equipment via RS-232 or RS-485. The existing firmware enables international standard communication protocols (such as MAP 27 for trunking, ETSI 07.05 for GSM). From a dispatch location, all vehicles can be identified and tracked on the MicroNAV positioning software.
