What once began life as a simple junk-yard forgotten 1993 Isuzu Trooper has been given a new lease on life as Team CIMAR's NaviGATOR platform. NaviGATOR is a state-of-the-art unmanned ground vehicle built to compete in the DARPA Grand Challenge. A 300 mile off-road journey from Los Angles to Las Vegas.

NaviGATOR has been modified to drive autonomously by adding actuators to the steering, throttle, brake and transmission. A sophisticated suite of sensors and intelligence allow the vehicle to navigate a wide variety of terrain at speeds upwards of 45 MPH.

NaviGATOR represents the future in both commercial and military ground vehicle technologies. The first significant advance in vehicle technology in the 21st century.

The PHYTEC phyCORE-MPC565 is deployed in the motor control unit of the NaviGATOR.
