SBC Module Description
The phyCORE-MPC555 is a cost-effective, high-performance Single Board Computer that packs the power of Freescale's embedded 32-bit PowerPC MPC555 microcontroller within a miniature footprint. All signals and ports of the MPC555 extend to two Molex high-density (0.635 mm pitch) 160-pin header connectors, making the controller resources readily available to the developer. These high-density pins allow the module to be plugged like a "big chip" into target hardware. The phyCORE-MPC555 can be populated with a maximum of 4 MB flow-through synchronous external BURST-SRAM for DATA storage and a maximum of 4 MB Flash memory at 0 wait states. The Flash serves as Boot and CODE memory and supports In-System programming. An additional 26 KB on-chip SRAM and 448 KB on-chip Flash memory is available on the MPC555. The 272-pin BGA controller also boasts a 64-bit Floating Point Unit, SPI, dual on-chip Full 2.0B CAN, dual-channel UART, and dual 16-channel A/D converters with 10-bit resolution.
