SOM Description
The phyCORE-MPC5121e-tiny is a System on Module populated with the MPC5121e high-performance, 32-bit embedded processor from Freescale based on the e300 core that boasts an array of flexible features of use in a wide range of industrial control applications.
Features of the MPC5200B include: PowerVR® MBX Lite 2-D/3-D graphics engine, 760 MIPS of processing power, a double precision Floating Point Unit (FPU), integrated display controller supporting up to 720p and WXGA resolutions, an MMU-based (Memory Management Unit) architecture with DDR1/DDR2/mobileDDR memory support, integrated PCI and Serial Advanced Technology Attachment/Parallel Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA/PATA). The processor's interface options include: 10/100MBit/s Ethernet, 2x USB 2.0 OTG (one with PHY), 4x CAN, 12 programmable serial controllers (PSC) configurable for UART, SPI, AC97 etc., 3x I²C, SDHC MMC/SD/SDIO interface and more.
The MMU supports operating systems, enables virtual memory management and facilitates the conversion of virtual addresses into physical addresses during direct access of runtime memory or external circuitry. The phyCORE-MPC5121e-tiny is an ideal solution for embedded applications that require sophisticated displays, graphics acceleration, rich user interfaces and network connectivity.
