SOM Description
PHYTEC insert-ready, OEMable modules support the engineer in every stage of embedded design: from evaluation, through development and prototyping, to OEM deployment. PHYTEC production-ready modules are designed to be plugged onto customer application target boards. Implementation of the phyCORE-i.MX27 SOM subassembly as the "core" of an embedded design allows developers to focus on target circuitry and firmware development.
The phyCORE-i.MX27 is an insert-ready System on Module (SOM) subassembly in miniature dimensions, populated with the Freescale i.MX27. The i.MX27 is designed for true high definition video with on-chip Ethernet 10/100 MAC, security, plug and play connectivity and advanced power management. These features make this SOM an excellent choice for video, intelligent remote control and wireless applications.
The standard phyCORE-i.MX27 ships with a pre-programmed Linux or Windows Embedded CE 6.0 image. Source and Binary Board Support Packages (BSPs) are also available.
