SOM Description
The phyCORE-SC520 is a PC/AT compatible System on Module with high integration density that maintains nearly all properties of an AT-mainboard. In addition to the integrated AT-functions of the AMD Élan SC520, the module offers many standard interfaces and bus systems. A PCI and a 16-bit ISA bus enable communication of the module to external devices, such as VGA displays and Ethernet controllers. Additional interfaces (keyboard, floppy, bi-directional LPT1: parallel port, SSI synchronic serial interface, four modem-capable RS-232 interfaces) allow connectivity to peripheral hardware. The floppy disk interface can be replaced with an optional IDE interface. A noteworthy feature of the phyCORE-SC520 module is its flexible memory expansion with 32-bit SDRAM devices, as well as 16- or 32-bit Flash and serial EEPROMs. The module further offers the proprietary serial AMDebug interface, including JTAG-Port, which is available through a mini Edge-Card connector.

- 5V IDE, floppy, keyboard, mouse, speaker and bi-directional parallel port interfaces
- IrDA interface
- Mini EdgeCard JTAG interface
- Ethernet controller
- 33 MHz 3.3V PCI bus (Rev. 2.2), 3.3V address bus, 16-bit 5V ISA data and control bus
- 6x freely programmable Chip-Select signals, 9x interrupt inputs, 8x programmable I/O signals, 2x DMA channels
- Auto power management via Super-I/O controller, battery backup of CMOS and RT
