Kit Description

The phyCORE SOM is designed to be plugged into a PHYTEC Carrier Board. The PHYTEC Carrier Board contains the I/O connectors as well as any other interface circuitry not provided on the phyCORE module itself. The phyCORE module, combined with the PHYTEC Carrier Board, provides a platform to jump start embedded designs and propel concept to prototype and finished product.

Carrier Board

The phyCORE Carrier Board LD 5V provides a flexible programming platform enabling quick and easy start-up, and subsequent programming of, 8- and 16-bit PHYTEC System on Modules with low density 2.54 mm pitch pin headers. Depending on the controller features of the implemented SOM, simple jumper configuration routes the available serial interfaces (RS-232, RS-485, CAN) to corresponding DB-9 connectors. The Carrier Board also offers a CAN transceiver is available that can be supplied with a separate voltage for galvanic isolation by a special CAN connector.

  • Primary serial interface Handshake signals set for boot or Reset (jumper-configurable)
  • Voltage regulator for 5V and 3.3V phyCORE modules
  • Expansion Bus: address, data, interface and all applicable I/O signals route from implemented phyCORE module to 2x80-pin Molex connectors, enabling connectivity to add-on hardware
