Kit Description
The phyCORE Single Board Computer (SBC) module is designed to plug into a PHYTEC Carrier Board that provides I/O connectors such as DB-9, RJ-45, USB, and power jack, as well as any other interface circuitry not provided on the phyCORE module itself. The phyCORE SBC module is at the core of our Rapid Development Kits. Once programmed, the phyCORE module can be removed from the Carrier Board and inserted like a "big chip" into test beds, prototypes, and production units for OEM deployment, making full use of its modularity and compact form factor.
phyCORE SBC modules are available in a variety of Rapid Development Kits that offer true rapid development solutions by providing all the necessary ingredients to jump start embedded designs. The kits include the phyCORE SBC module and Carrier Board, LCD, pre-installed Windows Embedded CE 6.0 demo image, complete electronic documentation, schematics, demo applications, and third party industry-standard C compilers and embedded development environments for evaluation.

- Molex high density SlimStack interconnect for mating with phyCORE-PXA270 SBC module
- Power supply input receptacle for unregulated 12V input . It supplies regulated +3.3 V for the phyCORE-PXA270, additional +5 V is created for USB Host
- Connector for 3.5" QVGA Portrait LCD (Hitachi TX09D71VM1CCA) and LED-Backlight and Touch
- Connector for 5.7" 1/2 VGA Landscape LCD (PrimeView PD057VU5) with LED-Backlight (Optional)
- AC97 audio/touch controller (Wolfson WM9712L) (MIC-IN, LINE-IN, LINE-OUT, PC-speaker output, and small beeper for audio signal)
- One DB-9 sockets for RS-232 interface from FF-UART
- One 2.54 mm pin header for RS-232 or TTL level from BT-UART
- RJ-45 Ethernet connector with transformer for 100/10 MBit/s
- USB Host standard-A socket for PXA270 USB 1.1 Host interface
- USB Client standard-mini-B socket for PXA270 USB 1.1 Client interface
- RTC on PXA270 I2C bus
- 3.0 V battery Gold Cap to support RTC

Alternate View of Acceleration Kit
The carrier board PCB is scored so that it can easily be cut in half, separating the "display side" and the "connector side" The display side can then be flipped around to the backside of the connector side and bolted together. This feature allows for a true compact board for a variety of applications. Given the compact nature of the Carrier Board, it is possible to OEM the complete hardware platform in human-machine-interface (HMI) applications. Kit shown below includes optional PHYTEC VM-007 camera module.
