Kit Description
The phyCORE Single Board Computer (SBC) module is designed to plug into a PHYTEC Carrier Board that provides I/O connectors such as DB-9, RJ-45, USB, and power jack, as well as any other interface circuitry not provided on the phyCORE module itself. The phyCORE SBC module is at the core of our Rapid Development Kits. Once programmed, the phyCORE module can be removed from the Carrier Board and inserted like a "big chip" into test beds, prototypes, and production units for OEM deployment, making full use of its modularity and compact form factor.
phyCORE SBC modules are available in a variety of Rapid Development Kits that offer true rapid development solutions by providing all the necessary ingredients to jump start embedded designs. The kits include the phyCORE SBC module and Carrier Board, LCD (select kits), complete electronic documentation, schematics, demo applications, and third party industry-standard C compilers and embedded development environments for evaluation.

Carrier Board Technical Features
Technical Features for Carrier Board (PCM-990-P3)
- Molex connectors for mating with phyCORE-PXA255 SBC module
- Connector for 8.4" Sharp TFT display with 640*480 pixel resolution, incl. adjustable inverter for background illumination
- AC97 controller WM9712L with touch and sound interface (Line-IN, Line-OUT, MIC-IN and 0.4 watts speaker)
- Two DB-9 sockets for RS-232 interface from FF-UART and BT-UART, 2*5 pin header for IR-UART
- One DB-9 plug for CAN interface, optical isolation
- RJ-45 Ethernet connector with transformer for 100/10 MBit/s
- USB Host socket for PXA USB host interface
- USB client socket for PXA USB client interface
- Power supply for unregulated input voltage from 12 V (optional 24V). It supplies regulated +3.3 V for the phyCORE-PXA255. Additional +5 V is created for the IDE and CF card and LCD/inverter circuitry.
