phyCARD-S RDK

Kit Description
The phyCARD-S (i.MX27) System on Module (SOM) is designed to plug into a PHYTEC phyBASE Carrier Board, which provides I/O connectors such as DB-9, RJ-45, USB, and power jack, as well as any other interface circuitry not provided on the phyCARD-S (i.MX27) module itself. The phyCARD module is at the core of the Rapid Development Kits (RDKs). Once programmed, the phyCARD module can be removed from the Carrier Board and inserted like a "big chip" into test beds, prototypes, and production units for OEM deployment, making full use of its modularity and compact form factor.
The phyCARD concept of standardizing hardware and software around broadly supported embedded processor architectures results in extensive deployment benefits for embedded product design:
- Scalability and Price/Performance Flexibility
- Hardware and Software Compatibility
- Reduced Design Complexity
- Extended Product Life Cycles
The RDK includes phyCARD-S SOM with the following configuration: Freescale i.MX27 @ 400MHz, 128MB DDR DRAM, 128MB NAND Flash, Touch Screen Controller, LCD LVDS (18 bpp), -20° to 85°C. The kit also includes the phyBASE Carrier Board, a 5" LCD/Touch combo, pre-installed Linux or Windows Embedded CE 6.0 OS demo image, complete electronic documentation, access to schematics, demo applications, and third party industry-standard C compilers and embedded development environments for evaluation.
The phyCARD-S (i.MX27) module, with its X-Arc Bus embedded pin terminal configuration, combined with the PHYTEC phyBASE Carrier Board, provides a flexible platform to accelerate embedded designs with its scalable System on Module technology.
