Kit Description

The phyCORE SBC module is designed to be plugged into a PHYTEC Carrier Board. The PHYTEC Carrier Board contains the I/O connectors as well as any other interface circuitry not provided on the phyCORE module itself. The phyCORE module, combined with the PHYTEC Carrier Board, provides a platform to jump start embedded designs and propel concept to prototype and finished product.

Carrier Board

HD200 Development Board The PHYTEC Carrier Board, in EURO-card dimensions (160 mm x 100 mm), is a universal carrier board for start-up and programming of all 5V PHYTEC micro- and miniMODUL Single Board Computer modules. The Carrier Board is fully equipped with all mechanical and electrical components necessary for the speedy and secure insertion of applicable modules. Simple jumper configuration readies the Carrier Board's connectivity to any PHYTEC module, which plug pins down into the available pin header contact strips. A wire wrap (60 mm x 65 mm) allows the Carrier Board to serve as an excellent prototyping platform.

  • Pin header receptacles accommodating both micro- and miniMODULs
  • Wire wrap field (60 mm x 65 mm) supports development of user-designed circuitry  
  • DB9-socket for RS-232 interface
  • Second DB9-plug which can be configured as a CAN or RS-485 interface according to user needs and the underlying controller
  • Reset switch
  • Boot switch  
  • Space for population of a DS2401 Silicon Serial Number chip (for network identification purposes)
  • VG96-connector  
  • Single power source via a low-voltage socket
  • (Unregulated 8V... -13 V=/500 mA) or via VG96 connector (regulated +5V=/ 500 mA)
