Description
The CAN-Dongle represents a simple and cost-effective method of integrating a PC into a CAN network via its parallel interface. Incorporating CAN connectivity into the small form-factor of a Dongle makes this device suitable for use with Laptops and Notepads. Depending on the available parallel interface, the Dongle can be used in either multiplexed or enhanced parallel port (EPP) mode.

- Dongle with built-in Philips SJA1000 (16 MHz) CAN controller in Basic 2.0 (11-bit message identifier) and Full 2.0B (29-bit message identifier) CAN modes
- 82C250/SSI9200 transceiver also built into the port-adapter housing
- Baudrate adjustable to 1 MBit/s
- Logic control via an integrated CPLD (compact programmable logic device)
- Supports all parallel interface interrupts and port addressing modes
- DB-25 (LPT) to DB-9 (CAN) interface, the latter according to CiA standard DS102
- Included PCANview software support operates in multiplex and or enhanced parallel port (EPP) modes
- Operating voltage supplied via PS/2 connector
