Description

The CANopen Chip-505 is a tiny yet highly cost-effective Single Board Computer based on the 8051-compatible Infineon C505CA microcontroller. The size of a 40-pin DIP device, the board is designed for use as a pre-configured I/O-node in a CANopen network, rather than as a stand alone micro engine. The CANopen Chip-505 is certified by CiA (CAN in Automation, e.V.)

A DIPmodul/CANopen Chip Carrier Board is also available to provide a flexible development platform for easy start-up and subsequent programming. The Carrier Board design allows easy operation of the implemented module in a Controller Area Network (CAN) bus system and connection of additional expansion boards featuring various functions that support fast and convenient prototyping and software evaluation.

Features

I/O Node:

  • Single Board CANopen-node in 40-pin DIP dimensions
  • Infineon C505CA 8051-compatible controller
  • Controller signals and ports extending to standard-width (2.54 mm) pin header rows lining the edges of the board include:
  • 12 freely-available port pins
  • Full 2.0B passive CAN signals CAN_H & CAN_L
  • 2 reference voltage pins for on-chip A/D-converter
  • 2 control pins
  • 2 address and 8 data lines for connectivity to an external 8-bit port
  • 32 KB external SRAM, 64 KB external Flash
  • 2 KB serial EEPROM for storage of CANopen protocol configuration parameters
  • PCA82C251 CAN transceiver
  • Meets CiA DS 301 V3.0 and DSP 401
  • 8-bit jumper header enables configuration of NODE-ID (4-bit), baudrate (2-bit) and I/O (2-bit)

Carrier Board:
