PCAN-LINK
Client-PCAN Connection
|
PCAN-Link is based on the CANAPI2 interface from PEAK and allows for various communication scenarios and connection of virtual or physical CAN systems over a network media. Data exchange in a PCAN-Link network is based on a PCAN-Link client establishing a connection to the server. Communication to other client programs occurs over this server. PCAN-Link client and server can be installed on the same computer or on different machines. CAN data are transmitted within an IP package in an encrypted and secure format. Applications range from remote diagnostics of CAN networks, visualization of process data or remote control of automotives during test drives when using a GSM/UMTS modem.
Features
- Software package that allows CAN data exchange using the TCP/IP protocol
- Communication with up to 15 CAN networks via WAN/LAN using TCP/IP
- Free port assignment for flexible firewall configuration
- Integrated CAN monitor in each client module with exact sender routing information (IP, local or NetBIOS name)
- Server can be started as service under Windows 2000/XP
- Simple and intuitive user interface
- Cost-effective remote connection for troubleshooting or visualization in CAN based networks (CANopen, DeviceNet, etc.)
- CAN hardware independent - any network card in host with TCP/IP support can be used for LAN communication
