PHYTEC Announces phyCORE-i.MX35 ARM11 SOM

Seattle, WA – Dec 18, 2009 – PHYTEC announces the release of its new phyCORE-i.MX35 System On Module (SOM) and phyCORE-i.MX35 Rapid Development Kit (RDK). phyCORE SOMs are designed to plug into a PHYTEC Carrier Board that provides I/O connectors such as DB-9, RJ-45, USB, and power jack, as well as any other interface circuitry not provided on the phyCORE module itself. The phyCORE SOM is at the core of PHYTEC's Rapid Development Kits..

The phyCORE-i.MX35 SOM is an ARM-11 based, small form factor, OEMable SOM populated with the Freescale i.MX357: a high performance, mobile entertainment engine for the ultimate multimedia experience. Graphics acceleration, state-of-the-art power management technology, security architecture, Floating Point Unit, on-chip Ethernet, dual CAN, dual USB-PHYs, a camera and DDR2 memory interfaces make this SOM the ideal candidate for multimedia applications.

The phyCORE-i.MX35 Rapid Development Kit includes the SOM, mapper board and carrier board, 3.5" color LCD with integrated touch, pre-installed Linux or Windows Embedded CE 6.0 demo images and all the contents required to enable users to successfully set-up target hardware all for the low cost of $879.00. The RDK also includes a free Linux source Board Support Package (BSP) or free binary Windows Embedded CE 6.0 binary BSP. The Windows Embedded CE 6.0 source BSP is available for purchase separately.
