PHYTEC announces availability of Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 BSPs

Seattle, WA – Oct 5, 2009– PHYTEC America, the industry's leading supplier of production-ready System on Modules and Windows Embedded Gold Partner, announced today that all PHYTEC System on Module hardware, Rapid Development Kits and Board Support Packages (BSPs) are fully compatible with the new 6.0 R3 version of Microsoft’s Windows Embedded operating system. PHYTEC’s integrated hardware and software solutions, including free access to BSP source code, allows engineers to immediately develop, debug, and demo their application software on an embedded hardware platform.

Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 delivers the rich application experiences of Microsoft Silverlight and provides seamless connections to Windows 7-based PCs, servers and online services. Silverlight for Windows Embedded is an out-of-browser, native code implementation of Microsoft Silverlight technology which simplifies the design of innovative UIs on Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3-based devices.

In addition to Silverlight, the Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 also includes the following new features:

  • Connection Manager
